Gary Gorski opens Wolverine Studios!

This is a bit late in announcing, but Gary Gorski , creator of Total Pro Basketball and Total College Basketball series, is now on his own after seperating from GDS and bringing a great idea for a sports sim called Total Pro Golf!

Gary is a great friend of mine, and I highly recommend that you take the time to visit at http://www.wolverinestudios.com/ and check out the screenshots of the Course Designer now released as the game gets ready to be moved to beta status later this spring/summer. Gary has made acclaimed and well supported games, and TPG looks to be another big winner for Wolverine Studios and Mr. Gorski!

As always, Gary has the support of everyone at Medley Games and boy do we wish him well! His programming is top notch, and his response to the fans is uncomparable, I look for a lot of great things from Wolverine Studios and Gary and his staff, which also includes Paul Yuan (Mr Graphics Extrodinaire) and Bryan Swartz (the Secret Weapon) who runs the forums!

Gary hinted at a few surprises at Wolverine besides the basketball line, and the golf game, so if the main site has any hints, I would say that maybe football and baseball could be in their future as well! Who knows? Only time will tell!

Congratulations to Gary Gorski for making the move to sole ownership of his games, and Wolverine Studios! Can't wait to see what the future holds for WS!

New Medley Games Lineup.

Sometimes over a period of weeks you find that the work was all worth the effort, and over the last few weeks, we here at Medley Games have been hard at work at not one, but three games for our fans!

Three games you say? Did you hit your head TC? What is going on? Three? What the???

Yes I meant what I said, Medley Games is proud to announce three games in the lineup for folks that love sports sims! Along with the aforementioned SCR, we now have a football and hockey game in our future!

Back when .400 SS was in existence, there were two programmers that had a great game, but no one really knew about it, since it was a very good sim of hockey and the stats and ratings on the game were the genre's best, since the game was based on a longtime board game called FaceOff Hockey.

Rick Cole and Jim Renshaw brought a great hockey game to the .400 line, and if it didn't sell as much as the other games at .400, it had a lot of great fans and supporters of the game, both PC and board versions. After .400 breathed it's last, a lot of great folks were left with an abandoned company or a memory of times past. I felt that FaceOff Hockey deserved another place to showcase their PC and board game, and spent the last weeks talking to the FOH guys about joining Medley and thinking about making another version of the PC game FaceOff Hockey, which was originally brought out in 2004..

Needless to say the guys wanted to get back to the 'Net and try making another version of their game, but their schedules are pretty darn busy. I let them know that making a great game takes time, and if they were willing, Medley would be willing to let them develop it at their pace, and not bang out a new game every year just because everyone else is doing it.

So after a long time of discussion, and emails flying back and forth, we finally got things worked out, and Rick Cole and Jim Renshaw are joining Medley Games with FaceOff Hockey, and we can't be more excited!

Both Rick and Jim have a long history with hockey, and if you havent tried out their fantastic board game, you might want to visit here: http://www.hockeyresearch.ca/

You can get your board gaming fill of hockey, and while waiting on the next version of FaceOff Hockey, you can also be downloading the PC version here soon. Look for the notice on the forums when it is ready!

After all that good news, we can also announce that Joe Bryan is now working hard on Medley Games' first football sim now called... Sideline Strategy: American Football!

Joe is a big fan of sports sims, and some of his inspiration comes from his longtime history playing games like OOTP. Joe mentioned that he was going to push for the adaptability of the OOTP style while giving folks their much needed football fix!

There is more coming from Joe about his game in the future, as I have seen some of his ideas and plans for the game, and he will be posting about both here and on the forums, so make sure to keep abreast of what is going on, along with more news about FaceOff Hockey, Sideline Strategy: American Football and StockCar Championship Racing by visiting the forums at: http://www.medleygames.com/forums/index.php?

Our main site will be going thru some changes to reflect the new lineup and games, so be sure to check the MGDB and the forums for more information first! It will take some time, but I hope to have the changes up soon after June 1st.
