Long time away.
Nothing big new to report, unless you are a modified/dirt fan, as we are working on adding the WoO and the Lucas Oil Dirt Series, along with the Whelan Modified series. To how much depth it still being worked out, but you will be able to track racers from those series, along with other major circuits, like F1 and IRL.
More to come as we get closer! Thanks!

Southern Championship Racing Features List Announced!
Southern Championship Racing Features List
· Four levels of playable circuits- from dirt to the main circuit! You decide!!
· Two modes of play: Crew Chief and Owner.
· Deeper interaction with staff and drivers. As crew chief you'll have the ability to do the decide how the car is setup for the week’s race(s), what plans for non-racing like testing, qualifying, scouting or spying! This scouting and spying feature gives you the ability to spark some interest in a driver or pit crew member that might have interest in your team(s) and even gives you the chance to engage in some illegal recruiting techniques - of course with the risk that your dealings will be discovered, punished, and fined.
· As owner, you have sponsors, circuit management, drivers, media, pit/crew chief interaction, to deal with. You have to balance profits with results, the more successful you are the more you can do!
· Up to three cars per owner is allowed in Southern Championship Racing.
· Choice of racing schedules- Classic or Playoff modes!(Options for historical imports are tentatively scheduled at this time)
· In-game editor is scheduled for track import/export to be released before gold status, but subject to change, and creating your own racer, pit crew member, owner, and sponsor will be available as well!
· Random events based on reality: off-the-track incidents, cancelled or postponed races, in-season driver and crew (and crew chief) firing and hiring, injuries, career ending events, to increase long term replayability.
· Trophy room where all your successes are shown! Show off your race and season trophies for everyone!
· Sponsors play a role in your race career. Keep them happy or find yourself without a ride or income!
· Get to know your staff! New scouting (and spying) report options, crew and driver relationship displays and crew/driver/user interactions through in-game meetings make even the boring weekly results recap interesting!
· Like customizing your world? Maybe you wish to race in the lower circuits and work your way to the main circuit? SCR’s optional game features allow you to do this and more. Rather simulate your world for a few years and then take over a team? You can! Ratchet up your challenge by not using ratings for drivers and crew? Now you can, and the choice is yours!
· Expanded almanac to track even more stats that seems possible. Over 100 trackable stats for crew chief, driver, pit crew, and owner!
· Importing of real life rosters and historical stats is available with the game editor (released seperately!)
· Special interactive pit stops, along with a graphical view of how your crew did!
· Full HTML and Multiplayer league support with added functionality and HTML options , along with the chance to have well over 100 drivers in all four circuits!
· Enhanced PBP and limited 2D game action allows you to watch every lap of the race unfold, or fast forward to your pit stops and see if your tactics and teamwork get you that boost for a win or a top ten!
· Customize your crew chief or owner to give you the challenge you want for your career, choosing from over 100 positions in four levels of racing to begin your career!
· Customize it all! Customize sponsors, vehicles, logos, player and crew photos, - whatever you can envision, you can customize it!
There might be some changes to the list, some additions and minor subtractions, but for now this is the feature list. We are really excited, as the game is really starting to firm up and getting closer all the time!
We will announce when the beta process will start, so if you haven't signed up yet, please visit Medley at www.medleygames.com and register!
Thanks!

Delays hit FaceOff Hockey, Southern Championship Racing!
====================
It has been too long between updates, but, we still need to let you know how things are going at the Big M! FaceOff has had numerous delays due to the health of the co-programmer, Rick Cole, and it has been such that the delays also played a heavy part in SCR's progress as well.
Without going into a lot of detail, both games are back on a limited schedule, and the first news should be revealed about FaceOff Hockey here shortly. The board game fans are anxiously awaiting news about the season set for 2006-07, and I know that as of today, 10/27, Rick was getting prices for North America printing, shipping and handling for the card set. He hasn't replied with the final numbers from his contact, so we await to see what he finds out.
Plus the testing of the 2004 version patch/update is now in VERY limited testing. Rick and Ryan are running tests with plans to offer a limited test run with 2 or 3 league owners to see how the new patch/update works! More information when we have it.
Pricing is being finalized for both the Card Set and Update for the PC version, and when we have that finalized we will be announcing that. At this time, we will be offering the card set first, and when all the details for the PC version is cleaned up and finalized we will post an announcement.
What about Southern Championship Racing?
==============================
Also, not to ignore the SCR fans, we are going to release some news on the game here shortly, and most likely show some "early pre-alpha" test screens with the announcement to let folks know what is coming with Southern Championship Racing!
We have a couple of ideas still in the early development stage, and we are also looking at creating either a non-sports or sports sim that will be web-based where people can log on to the website forum, and be able to play a game expressly made only for the web! This is very early in development, so please understand that the details, plans, and features can and should change before it releases.
Both Joe and I are busy working on SCR and some new projects to be more fully explored later this year or 2008, so please hang in there, we aim to surprise a few folks!

FaceOff Hockey news release!
Press Release
Medley Games announces changes to the FaceOff Hockey franchise: FaceOff Hockey PC Game and FaceOff Hockey Board Game
Rick Cole and Jim Renshaw release news on the future of the hockey franchise.
North Central, IN, USA, April 24, 2007:
Medley Games owner TC Dale and the co-producers of FaceOff Hockey franchise, Rick Cole and Jim Renshaw, have been working behind the scenes to update everyone on the progress and future of the FaceOff Hockey games, both PC and table top board game versions. Because of unforeseen delays, a lot of time has passed since the last release of the Windows PC version, and even with the board game updating season sets every year, the game was becoming dated in graphics and game play.
When Rick and Jim decided to initiate plans for an update and scheduling a new release, they realized that due to time constraints , FOH was not going to make deadlines. TC, Rick and Jim went to work consolidating the future for FaceOff Hockey. “We had some major delays that Jim could not overcome, and finally we worked out alternate planning to allow the FaceOff Hockey franchise to continue,” TC Dale said. “Medley Games is happy to announce that FaceOff Hockey 2008 is on the schedule.”
Medley Games owner, TC Dale, was happy with the progress. “ We are working with Rick Cole on a new look, layout, and format for both versions of the game, while preserving the quality gameplay and accurate stats the franchise is known for.
Also, we are very happy to announce Ryan Wollmuth as the new programmer for the FaceOff Hockey PC version! An update incorporating the new post-lockout NHL rules is scheduled for FOH 2004, and Ryan along with Rick, will be posting on the Medley forums about their plans for both games. We are glad to be able to update 2004 version, but the focus will be readying the new version for release.
Further information and details about the PC and board game for FaceOff Hockey, please email TC Dale at tcdale at medleygames dot com, or visit the Medley Games FaceOff Hockey sub-forums at www.medleygames.com/forums/index.php .

Musings and some ideas
That is my fault, and I take full responisibility for it. Suffice it to say that we are going to make sure that we keep you up to date more on FaceOff Hockey, Sideline Strategy American Football, and Southern Championship Racing.
We had some struggles, and some mighty big rivers and mountains to cross but things are looking up, and we will have a lot more to talk about very shortly.
Before I forget... congratulations to the Indianapolis Colts, the Super Bowl champs! This is one of my favorite teams, and enjoyed the true roller coaster ride the team had to the Lombardi Trophy!
Don't bet on them repeating. Too many holes again. :) They have lost a lot on defense, and one RB and WR already. Injuries will kill them this year if they replace lost players and don't draft well again.
Plus you already know this, but the Florida Gators repeated as NCAA College Basketball Champions this season! Hasn't been done since Duke, if I remember right! Wow. Guess OSU wasn't a king killer after all!
In the next few days we hope to have news about at least one of our products, and maybe two. I can't promise, but I know we have news developing this month, and I hope you guys are ready for it.

December is coming, along with some news.
We are going to along with the site release have news in December about FaceOff Hockey and it's future for both the board and PC game, some new looks at SCR, and possibly an update or two from the guys!
Did you get a Wii or PS3 this season? Or did you upgrade the beloved PC this year? Have you found a new game that dominates your time? Is that Wii something ? This is the beginning of the future. Exercise while you play video games.. revolutionary!
I watched my kids and their friends spend 8 hours release night at our house just playing the Wii Sports games, and they were all tired and ready for a break. Nintendo has a bit hit this time!
What is on your wish list this holiday season? I know I have a short list, but hey, even I can dream!
My Christmas list!
- Finish up graphics and mini-projects and get SCR ready for testing!
- Diapers, Babysitter Fees, and Sleep Medicine for Joe (Father of Twin Boys!) Bryan! (believe me his wife and poor Joe need it!)
- Clone of Joe, Icy, and I so we could get more work done and be able to enjoy the Christmas season more!
- A huge thank you to all the guys that follow Medley and support us with info and ideas!
- The chance to meet all of you personally sometime in a Big M tour later in 2007 or 08!
Congratulations to fjvieane who won the 1st Medley Games Fantasy Challenge in the Nascar Challenge. He finished second to the programmer, beating Flaming Weasel Racing for second by almost 40 points, and fjvieane Racing wins the choice of:
1.Their choice of which Medley Games product to test, or
2. A Medley T-Shirt, or
3. Their choice of a Medley Games product for free!
We will be doing this regularly, so please sign up and join in on the fun!
More to come in the days ahead, as Joe, Icy, and I work on the website, and all things Medley!

Congratulations to Jim Gindin and Front Office Football!
Running his game franchise and running it profitably out of his home for so many years, is an inspiration for everyone that wants to run a business in this sports game genre.
Jim has just released his latest version of his pro football game classic, Front Office Football 2007 and you can get a demo here: http://www.solecismic.com/demo/FOF2007Demo.zip
The link will get you the chance to buy the game, or you can just download the full version linked at the FOFC forum http://fof.sportplanet.gamespy.com/forums/index.php .
You might ask why I am giving some info about what some would say is a competing product?
Jim Gindin makes one heckuva game and cares about the sport sim community, and has been very supportive to me in questions and feedback about programming in general/specifics. He has always been approachable, thoughtful, and willing to listen as time permits.
That kind of help is invaluable, and welcomed.
I respect his talent, vision, and business acumen. I have his latest game, and I have to say that his latest version is deeper than FOF 2004, and with some new features added to what is understood as the industry standard for pro football simulation games.
If people would work together to strengthen the genre, and support each other publically and privately, the whole sport sim community would grow healthy and hearty.
For those that want more info about the game strategies and features, the fansite forum FOFC (Front Office Football Central) is a goldmine of information about the game and any sport sim fan would bookmark their location pronto!
We can only hope that Jim has a long life ahead of him, with more versions of FOF , and The College Years! So if you are looking for a football game with a lot of depth and replayability, make sure to stop by Jim's place and try out the new FOF 2007 demo.
Thanks Jim for a great game, and thanks for all you do!
